Sands of
Time

Keeping our members
informed and entertained!
The Union
County Historical Society publishes a quarterly newsletter for all current
members. "The Sands of Time" is
published in January, April, July and October. Each issue is ten pages, filled
with stories about Union County history and the pioneers. We also include
minutes from our monthly meetings, letters from our readers, a list of new
members, donations, acquisitions and many other items of interest to our
members. Once a year, in the Summer Edition, we publish a complete membership
list and in the Winter Edition we bring you the Annual Report.
The
newsletter was first published in 1988 at the start of the Historical Society.
At that time, Cathleen Curry was editor, and she remained in that position until
December, 1998. Cathleen retired as editor after those 10 years, and Joni Kjar
took over the duties beginning with the Winter 1999 edition.
With the
Winter 1999 Edition, the newsletter also took on a new format. This has enabled
us to include much more information in each issue. Most of the information in
our newsletter is generously provided to us by members, and we welcome any
article you think would be appropriate for our publication.
